Vitamin E for circulation in smokers

Regulation of blood flow can be impaired in smokers because
of the increased action of free radicals from cigarette smoke. A group of American
scientists have investigated how effective Vitamin E
is in retaining or restoring vascular function in healthy smokers. A group of
healthy smokers were given 600mg of v

itamin E per day for four weeks. At the end of the 4
weeks, some significant effects were observed: there was significant dilation
of vessels and vascular dilation lasted longer in the vitamin E treated group,
when compared to a control group. The researchers linked this improvement to the
