Learning DisordersDESCRIPTIONLearning disorders cover a whole range of difficulties that impact learning. While such disorders can be caused by serious conditions (such as neurological problems, malnutrition, and parasites), learning disabilities are most often the result of psychological factors such as the home environment. Some well-known examples are dyslexia and Hyperactivity. Dyslexia is a perceptual problem, while Hyperactivity is regarded as an attention disorder. The hyperactive child will be easily distracted and avoid tasks requiring sustained concentration. Because a learning disorder could be symptomatic of an underlying disease, diagnostic tests should be performed before taking any medical action.
