BurnsDESCRIPTIONBurns are a result of denatured protein ending in tissue injury. In first-degree burns (i.e. sunburns), the damage is limited to the epidermis. In second-degree burns, the damage extends to the dermis. Third degree burns involve destruction of the Skin and can extend into underlying tissue. Minor burns involve local dilation and increased permeability of capillaries, resulting in an excess of blood outside of vessels and in tissue. More severe burns, those that affect more than twenty percent of the body, can be life threatening. NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTSBioflavonoids (1) REFERENCES1. Spillant CR.
