Controlling the Risk of Heart Disease
The importance of maintaining a healthy heart is emphasised
by the fact that coronary heart disease (CHD) is the commonest single cause
of death in most industrialised countries. A number of influences have been
identified that predispose to an increased risk of developing CHD, these components
are loosely referred to as 'risk factors' and can be categorised as being either
irreversible or reversible.
We have the power to manipulate reversible risk factors
and this presentation will discuss how correct lifestyle, dietary and nutrient
supplementation practices can favourably affect heart health and reduce the
risk of CHD.
