Nyctalopia (Night blindness)

DESCRIPTION

Often a dangerous disorder, night blindness results in the inability to see well in the dark or under dim light. It may be a consequence of nutritional deficiency (notably Vitamin A) and may also result from a decreased synthesis of rhodopsin, retinal degeneration, or may be due entirely to a congenital defect.

Night blindness is usually diagnosed when an individual’s Eyes do not readily adjust in a few moments, from daylight, when they enter a dark room.
